Training & Coaching
Train. Develop. Achieve.
Structured training, qualified coaching and a supportive club environment – whatever your ability, experience or goals.
Training is at the heart of Leighton Buzzard Triathlon Club. Across six days of the week, our members have opportunities to swim, cycle and run through a varied programme of coached and organised sessions.
Whether you're taking your first steps into triathlon, looking to improve your fitness, preparing for your next event or competing at a high level, our training programme gives you the opportunity to train at your own pace and develop your abilities.

Qualified coaches who give their time
One of the strengths of our club is the commitment of our volunteer coaching team.
Many of our sessions are led by qualified coaches who volunteer their time and experience to support fellow members. They bring knowledge across swimming, cycling, running and triathlon, helping members train safely, effectively and with confidence.
There is no additional charge for coaching. Members simply cover any applicable venue or session costs.
Our coaches aren't there simply to tell you what to do. They help you understand your training, develop your skills and get more from your time in the water, on the bike and out running.

Training for all abilities
You don't need to arrive as a triathlete – or even as a particularly confident swimmer, cyclist or runner.
Our sessions cater for different abilities and experience levels, and our club culture is built around supporting people to train at their own pace and progress as far as they want to go.
That could mean:
- Getting started | Building confidence, fitness and skills in a friendly environment.
- Developing | Following more structured training and working towards personal goals.
- Competing | Preparing for races, improving performance and challenging yourself.
- Pushing your limits |Training and competing at a high level alongside experienced club members.
Everyone has a different reason for being here, and every achievement matters.
More than a training session
Training is only part of what makes the club.
Throughout the year, members can get involved in training camps, club championships, cycle time trials, open-water coaching, track and velodrome sessions, bike skills and maintenance sessions, and talks covering areas such as nutrition and sports psychology.
There are also plenty of opportunities simply to ride, run, swim and socialise with other members.
Find your session
With training taking place across six days of the week, there's plenty of opportunity to find sessions that work for you.
Whether you're here to get fitter, learn something new, prepare for your first triathlon or see how far you can take your performance, you'll find people here to help you along the way.
